Diggits are enemies that appear in Glitter Gulch Mine in Banjo-Tooie. They disguise themselves as an ordinary conventional shovel (usually in mounds of coal) to fool intruders. Their attempts at a disguise, however, are less than perfect since the level contains no actual inanimate shovels except the one in Bullion Bill's shed. Diggits springs to life when Banjo and Kazooie get near it and tries to spear the bear and bird with its blade. It has good aim and can fly quite a distance.

Although this dubious enemy is fast to attack and can be hard to notice coming over the ambient noises of the mine, a single hit from almost any attack will be enough to break it into pieces. In addition, each failed attack attempt the shovel makes causes it to get stuck in the ground for a few seconds, allowing time for a counterattack.

Diggits spring to life when Banjo and Kazooie get near it and will attempt to spear the bear and bird with its blade.

Trivia

 • Its attack patterns and appearance resemble that of Franky the Pitchfork from Conker's Bad Fur Day, another game developed by Rareware. Diggits, however, aren't playable unless the Devil Bottles cheat is used.
 • Diggit's name is a portmanteau of the words "dig" and "it".
