Histup is a snake and one of Rubee's pets. He aids Banjo and Kazooie after five Blue Eggs have been dropped into the small basket rotating around the large basket in which Histup resides. He stretches his neck to the highest part of the pyramid enabling Banjo to reach a Jiggy. Banjo can climb up his neck or stand on top of the basket's lid to reach the Jiggy.
Histup is one of the few minor characters in Banjo-Kazooie who does not have a speaking role.
