Banjo-Kazooie Wiki

King Sandybutt is a character in Banjo-Kazooie who is a Mum-mum (and also has a Mum-mum's head for a speech icon). In the maze pyramid of Gobi's Valley, he claims that he has ownership of the pyramid's tomb, and warns the duo to get out or suffer the consequences. If the player chooses not to his adhere to his warning, the player must run along a maze within the time limit and find the way to the other side of it to reach King Sandybutt's tomb where the player can receive a Jiggy, and a Jinjo (hidden in a vase). If you do not reach it, King Sandybutt will deploy spiked walls that will crush the duo, at a cost of one life.

His tomb is in the room beyond the maze, but strangely enough he's not there. There is a Mum-mum walking around in the maze before you reach the tomb, whether is meant to be King Sandybutt is unknown. It has been suggested that King Sandybutt may have an alternate, Egyptian, less silly sounding name, but the King, knowing little English, mistranslated his own name into the comical final result.

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, King Sandybutt's Pyramid was torn out of Gobi's Valley and transferred to the Banjoland Museum. King Sandybutt is revealed to be alive, as when the Lord of Games brought the pyramid to the museum, King Sandybutt is mentioned to have been against the idea.
