Purple Jinjos are the most basic form of Jinjo appearing in every game in the Banjo-Kazooie series to date.

Making their debut in the original Banjo-Kazooie, they were one of the five Jinjos needed to be collected in each world. They were notable for being the only Jinjo color to appear on the cover art of the game, being held by Banjo as he escaped from Gruntilda and her baddies.

In Banjo-Tooie, they were the second largest family, with eight members. The Purple Jinjos are indigenous to Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge.

In Banjo-Pilot, the Purple Jinjo was a playable character, with only one point of top speed, but four points of acceleration and five points of handling, making him best for courses where a lot of weaving is required, but ill suited to courses with long straightways.

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Purple Jinjos are one of the many Jinjos in the game that can be found in certain worlds and have a challenge for Banjo. If Banjo completes the challenge, he is rewarded with a Jinjo Token.
