Giant's Lair is the early beta version of Gruntilda's Lair taking place in a towering temple. This test level was originally going to be the hub world in Project Dream, but as the game changed into Banjo-Kazooie, so did the hub world.
Many players get Giant's Lair confused with Mount Fire Eyes, another beta level from Banjo-Kazooie. Furthermore, hackers discovered an unused theme in the game known as "Advent," and many people also mistake it as the theme of the beta level Fungus Forest, when in reality it was intended to be the theme for the Giant's Lair.
